The Pentagon’s ‘Logistics Agency’ Lost Track of More Than $800 Million
Just another day in the office for the Pentagon and their accounting department; no accountability.
In a recent audit; Ernst & Young found that the Defense Logistics Agency failed to properly document more than $800 million in construction projects, just one of a series of examples where it lacks a paper trail for millions of dollars in property and equipment. Across the board, its financial management is so weak that its leaders and oversight bodies have no reliable way to track the huge sums it’s responsible for, the firm warned in its initial audit of the massive Pentagon purchasing agent.
There are ONLY 2 reasons that this kind of discrepancy can exist:
1. People are not doing their jobs. It is a well known fact that many of the government employees are just there for the ride to retirement. They are experts in the art of inter-coursing the canine. They can drag out a 2 day project into a 3 year project. They have become experts in the field of feather-bedding. The majority of them know they can not get fired if they tried. They have no fear of being showed the exit sign regardless of how bad they ^%#* up; so consequently their ambitions to do the job the right way are minimal at best.
2. The money has been misappropriated; or commonly known as being $tolen. The defense department is notorious for their, back-door deals, whore-dealing, underhanded tactics when it comes to syndromes like, kick-backs, pay offs and you scratch my back and I will put in a swimming pool for you or buy you a Rolls.
Noam Chomsky has documented, the Pentagon was spending upwards of $125 billion on “administrative waste” as of 2015.
Where is the accountability??
I don’t think that any good American (there are less and less of them daily) minds paying their fair share of taxes, IF the taxes are used for their intended purpose, spent wisely, not stolen, squandered or misused.
It is a total disgrace how little supervision is dedicated to MINDING THE STORE. One reason; the store keeper is probably as crooked and irresponsible as the workers.
800 million dollar$ is not chump change that can go missing and undetected. Someone or many know exactly where the $oldi disappeared to. That is like saying someone lost a prehistoric pachyderm in a broom closet.
It is impossible.
There are guidelines set up by the government to try and insure that all government employees walk the straight and narrow line. By the looks of what we see; I would say they have failed miserably.

It is the same old tune played over and over again. When someone ^$#@(* up enough, they are either hidden in a back office or promoted to a higher position.
I always like to emphasize; my opinions are not reflective of all the people in the areas I am commenting on. BUTT; there are enough of them there that they put a big monkey wrench in the systems and make all of their other co-workers look bad.
The government NEW employment slogan:
WE ALWAYS HIRE AND NEVER FIRE – COME JOIN OUR TEAM OF EXPERTS
