As we all know, with the so-called acceptable levels in the mentality of leniency of promiscuity and the loosening of moralities for the last 30 – 40 years, situations of interracial marriage and premarital sex are not as frowned upon as they used to be. A very good example is the impending marriage between Prince Harry and Meghan Merkle.
It has ALWAYS been of the highest priority for anyone in the Royal Family when marrying, to marry someone that also came from royalty. It was also a prerequisite that the person marrying into the family have the highest moral standards. Ideally, especially for the female entering the family, she was expected to be as pure as the newly fallen snow. Through the years the traditions have been kicked to the curb.
I am not casting any aspersions as to the quality of Meghan Merkle as a person; I am only stating the facts as to how it used to be when society was more concerned about maintaining rigid standards. Standards and protocol used to be the backbone of society.
In a nut shell, with all conditions considered, BACK IN THE DAY, it used to be a much, simpler, healthier and happier society.
Royal intermarriage
Royal intermarriage is the practice of members of ruling dynasties marrying into other reigning families. It was more commonly done in the past as part of strategic diplomacy for national interest. Although sometimes enforced by legal requirement on persons of royal birth, more often it has been a matter of political policy and/or tradition in monarchies.

With Queen Elizabeth being a staunch traditionalist, I can not imagine that she is over-joyed by the impending marriage of her grandson to a girl with no royal juice running thorough her veins, is an American and comes from bi-racial parents. The old girl has to be boiling.
It would not be very British if she publicly displayed her dissatisfaction but I am willing to bet she not a happy camper.
Just an observation of mine. I don’t see the legitimacy in Merkle mannerisms as I did with Diane. Will it last? Who knows. It may come down to how much Harry is willing to take.
For starters, Merkle has already walked down the isle once. Married to Trevor Engelson for 2 years. Marrying a divorced person also is taboo in the formalities of royal expectations .
Take Fergie for instance. Because of her active life-style, when Prince Andrew married Fergie; I tried to imagine how Andrew felt when he went out with his bride socially or for royal events and many of the men in the room KNEW her before he did.

Why Prince Philip Can’t Forgive Fergie
Sarah Ferguson’s latest attempt to get back in royal good books came to a shuddering halt at Royal Ascot when she came face to face with her nemesis, Prince Philip.
Philip has never forgiven Fergie for the damage she did to the dignity and reputation of the Royal Family through her well-publicized extramarital affairs, her desperate pursuit of money and shameless efforts to cash in on her royal connections, and her attempt to sell access to Prince Andrew to an undercover reporter from the News of the World.
As we can see Fergie was a very lively lady before and while married to Andrew.
I don’t know. Harry can get any just about any women in the world he wants and he picked Meghan. He has been with the cram of the crop. There must be something special about the lady.
I hope for Harry’s sake that Meghan is the right lady for him, lives up to his expectations and the standards of the royal family. There is nothing worse than having people laughing at you and pointing a finger, if you don’t know what they are laughing about.
