Iowa’s Republican Senate Candidate Joni Ernst Says, I’ll Castrate DC’s Spending and Cut Pork:
The voters in “The Land of Spuds” still want to buy some of that prime land I have left in the Okefenokee Swamp.
It would be like this lady standing on the shores of Japan while a tsunami is coming in and trying to hold it back. Never happen. She will get sucked into the current just like the rest of them.
The Potato Heads in Iowa are certainly some very gullible people to vote for a candidate based on her promise to curb spending. This is what politicians do best, spend other people’s money. Not theirs, the tax payers.
If the politicians were spending their own shackles, they would be eating at the Golden Arches and meet Tom Bodett at Motel 6 where he is keeping the light on. Taxpayers money, the sky is the limit to them.
I admire the lady who wants to try and turn things around in the “spending capitol of the world” but the roots are too deep.
Joni may have good intentions but she will be pissing up a rope (or maybe I should say down a rope) when she starts bumping heads with the incumbents in DC.
She said “I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm, so when I get to Washington, I’ll know how to cut pork. “My parents taught us to live within our means. It’s time to force Washington to do the same.”
I love her enthusiasm, her intentions are admirable but that is a rough bunch in DC and her chances for pulling in the reins on spending is zip. She should do what she does best and stick to castrating hogs.
Her story and a very few other well-wishing people remind me of Serpico; the cop that wanted to straighten out the corruption in the New York police department. His own people set him up and did not come to his rescue when he needed them; almost getting killed in the process. Some things are just too intrenched and will never change.
Sorry about getting Idaho and Iowa mixed up. Thanks for pointing it out Mickey.
All other fact remain the same.
I totally agree with you about Joni, Goomba. However, you have Iowa (land of corn and soybeans) confused with IDAHO (where the potatoes come from). Happens all the time with those flyover states. Ohio ends up in the mix too 😀
