Biden signs $40B Ukraine aid bill that was flown to South Korea
$40 billion aid package for Ukraine flown to South Korea for Biden’s signature
That is such a great humanitarian gesture. The only problem I have with it is, The United Nations name is the United Nations, not the Bank of America.
Being that we are all in this war together; funds appropriated for the Ukraine should be equally divided per capita by each nation signatory to the United Nations agreement. The USA has been the bankbook since the UN was established.
The UN’s Membership has grown from the original 51 Member States in 1945 to the current 193 Member States. All UN Member States are members of the General Assembly. States are admitted to membership by a decision of the General Assembly upon the recommendation of the Security Council.
- United States (27.89%)
- China (15.21%)
- Japan (8.56%)
- Germany (6.09%)
- United Kingdom (5.79%)
- France (5.61%)
- Italy (3.30%)
- Russian Federation (3.04%)
- Canada (2.73%)
- Republic of Korea (2.26%)
This has always been the pattern from day one that the USA contributes the vast majority of funding to operate the United Nations. My question is why. If everyone is invited to the banquet, they all eat the same food and drink the same booze, they should all pay the same price per capita.
I have known some very cheap bastards who will go to lunch with you 12 days a week, always hits the latrine when the check comes. Sounds very similar to some of the UN members. In Italian we call them. senza volto (without face). They continue to enjoy all of the luxuries and trimmings but have boxing gloves on so they could never reach in their pockets.
The current contributions scale, valid for 2019 to 2021, was adopted by the UN General Assembly in December 2018. The four largest contributors to the United Nations – the US (22% of the UN budget), China (12.005%), Japan (8.564%) and Germany (6.090%) – together finance some 49% of the entire UN budget. As far as I know, China Japan in Germany can buy and sell the United states. Why does the United States pay a much higher membership fee then the others??
This is another issue that Donald Trump tried to correct while he was in office but like so many other hindrances, he was stopped before he came out of the starting gate. Everyone should be expected to pay their fair share if they benefit by the protection.
Let’s be realistically honest folks. Even with all of PDT fuck-ups and he had a few, based on current conditions, economically and militarily, who would you rather see sitting in the big chair now. Don’t even say KJ’ because you would be a liar or a complete imbecile. Maybe both.
Overextending ourselves financially is just one more condition that proves how ignorant and corrupt many of the USA’s politicians have been through the years. Considering the type of person that now sits in the big chair; I cannot be convinced that some of those dead president’s have not trickle down back into his pockets, to his constituents and the pockets of his family.
I don’t want to put the entire jacket on Kamikaze Joe; graft and corruption have been an enormous factor that turns the wheels of politics since politics began. What we see in K J just indicates he does it a lot better than most of them. We can plainly see the end result.
