Russia expert says Kremlin is becoming more like North Korea

As Russian President Vladimir Putin wages a deadly war against Ukraine, one expert says that the country’s society is inching closer and closer to that of North Korea.
Putin took a number of actions cracking down on dissent in Russia, jailing people who protest against the war, and even journalists who report facts on what their government is doing in Ukraine.
They may be partially right in their observation. The biggest difference between the people of North Korea and the people of Russia (beside the shape of their eyes) the people of Russia have had/enjoyed decades of mostly a democratic way of living/ freedom.
On the other side of the coin; a good majority of the people from North Korea have been raised and brainwashed from birth having their heads filled with hatred for the USA and most of the rest of the world that live in a democratic society.
Trying to control the Russian people in a similar manner will never be accepted.
There are so many different scenarios as to the end result of the war in Ukraine and the future of their country as well as the Russians; it is extremely hard to predict what the outcome will be.
If I had to make a calculated guess, my money would go on the Great Russian people not allowing Putin to dominate them like the people of North Korea are controlled by the kid-dick-tator.
There is a huge difference in being raised from birth in an autocratic society and not really ever experienced what true freedom is like, then in a democratic/semi-free society and trying to change it midstream. I do not think the entire population of Russia would stand for Putin to become so drastic.
Who knows where the hell this tragedy is going to end, but it may be likely, someway, somehow that this beast of a dictator will be the cause of his own undoing.
What do they call it old Greek tragedy?? I would conclude; there is no one on this planet earth that is more deserving of a tragic ending then Vladimir Putin.

The Ukrainian people have my deepest respects for the way they are/have defended their homeland. Their patriotism and bravery are attributes must be admired.
Personally; I never thought they would have been such a worthy opponent as they have been against the better armed Russians. What has been their real salvation is all of the military aid they are receiving from other countries in the form of weapons and monetary commitments.
My deepest concern for the entire world, like so many other people, will the madman drop the big one if he feels he is totally defeated?? I say he will.
We should all hope Putin is smart enough to know, if he does hit that red button, that probably will be the end of civilization as we know it. After all the sides/countries are finished dropping their own nuclear bombs in defense, this planet will be so contaminated with nuclear waste it well become uninhabitable for anyone to live on.
Just take a look at Chernobyl and in Japan where they have had catastrophic atomic disasters. The land surrounding where the mishaps took place will not be habitable for thousands of years.
So tell me; can there be a real winner in this tragic story?? None that I can see.
Smoking on this one folks: 20,000 years
More than 30 years on, scientists estimate the zone around the former plant will not be habitable for up to 20,000 years. The disaster took place near the city of Chernobyl in the former USSR, which invested heavily in nuclear power after World War II.
I HOPE I AM WRONG.
