Marine fired for criticizing military leaders resigns, says chasing stability makes ‘slave to the system’
Scheller said he wanted senior leaders to accept accountability

The U.S. Marine relieved of his command for calling out his superiors over the disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal that led to the deaths of 13 service members said Sunday he was officially resigning.
In a tell-all video posted on social media, Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller acknowledged he was sacrificing a comfortable retirement by criticizing the way the withdrawal was handled.
“I could stay in the Marine Corps for another three years, but I don’t think that’s the path I’m on. I’m resigning my commission as a United States Marine, effective now,” Scheller said. “I am forfeiting retirements, all entitlements, I don’t want a single dollar. I don’t want any money from the VA. I don’t want any VA benefits [even though] I’m sure I’m entitled 100%.”
For these comments Col. Shellrer came under fire from the top brass. Many time the truth hurts and many times we have to suffer the consequence for our comments. What is most disturbing, the colonel is 100% right.
Anyone that knows anything about military protocol, especially in THE CROTCH (old time name for the Corps); we never bad mouth those in high places. But what kind of a person is a person if they can not speak the truth without fear of reprisals?? What kind of authority is authority if they come down on someone that is right?? I would call them unjust.
When the whole world knows the exit strategy for Afghanistan was nothing but a #cluster-fuck, (old CROTCH slang) from the top down, because of poor planning, that cost countless deaths, injuries and damage, (it is not over yet) they have their heads where the sun does not shine and needed a fall guy to put someone’s head on the chopping block.
Tell it like it is folks; J J and company totally blew the operation, BUTT are too ignorant and egotistical to admit it. Just saying; he accepts all the responsibility does not cut it or lessen the end result that is far from over.
I know the military has to take a stand when someone in their ranks crosses protocol; and can not let their people get out of line, but to me, this was not out of line and the punishment is a very big price to pay for someone speaking the truth. Col. Sheller worked very hard, putting his life and ass on the line for the USA for many years and deserves all the benefits coming to him.
I think the man is a hero!! What I would like to see, butt don’t see it happening; J J step up to the plate, wear the jacket, reverse the Col. dismissal, and promote him to FULL BIRD. That would definitely show some polish.

It is shameful that our motto SEMPER FI (ALWASYS FAITFUL) has yet again been tarnished for the lack of loyalty THE CROTCH has shown one of their heroes.
For the TOP BRASS, Semper Fi should work both ways.
