Authorities have ordered at least 50,000 people in Northern California to evacuate on Saturday as a potentially “catastrophic” wind event could amplify the wildfires that have scorched the area – Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) confirmed it would initiate a mass power shut-off of nearly 940,000 customers on Saturday, with the total impacted rising from 2.5 to 2.8 million.
Winds of 85 mph and above are fanning the flames of this monster. With conditions like that, there is nowhere to run, and nowhere to hide.
Many times, people who live in California pay a big price for that luxury. Pittsburgh, PA doesn’t look too bad after all.
If they do physically survive the catastrophe, they have to start all over. Many of them are not insured or find themselves paying gigantic premiums because of the areas they live in are so fire prone.
I am definitely a religious guy, but I do say a prayer for all the people affected. They need all the help they can get.
