Jesus Christ; (in this case I don’t think JC would mind me using his name to make my point) bullet proof back packs for school kids. What in the name of Jesus Christ has gone wrong with society??
When did we ever think that this country and some of the other countries around the world would be in such turmoil state that our kids would have to wear bulletproof backpacks to school. Are you shitting me.
If nothing else, the pathetic politicians should hang your head in shame when they let situations like this escalate to the levels they have. They should have been putting out this raging fire 50 years ago. Now it is burning out of control.
Mostly everyone tries to figure out what when wrong that we find ourselves in an unacceptable predicament like this, that we have to worry about our kids getting shot when they attend school. It is just not one element that went haywire, BUTT 1,000’s of elements, that through the years went unattended/ignored and got to the point they are uncontrollable now.
Starting with the lack of discipline for kids that grow up in dysfunctional families or no family figures at all. I don’t care how anyone tries to convince me; this turmoil we see in the world WAS NOT normal back in the 40’s and the 50″s. That is when mothers stayed home and kept the family together, while the old man went out and made a living. LATCH KEY KIDS, did not exist.
The majority of families had the mother at home that took care of business, and the father who worked for a living, (not supported by the government).
If the drug problem did exist then, it was so minute no one noticed.
Young girls were not given birth control pills at the are of 12, for a just in case. They were schooled/encouraged by their parents save their virginity for a reasonable age or until they got married. Most of the boys respected the girls, rapes were almost nonexistent. .
Gangs were a group of guys that slicked back their hair with Vasoline and thought they were bad asses. They did not go around blowing 50 – 60 people away on a week end because the crossed into their turf.
We were all taught the key word to unity, RESPECT. If we popped off to an adult disrespectfully in the neighborhood and he kicked our ass, we got home, the old man did another number on us. Discipline and respect go hand in hand. I don’t condone a beating, BUTT I do condone a good swat on the ass if needed. I never saw anyone die from it.
Did we EVER have to worry about kids getting shot and killed when they went to school. By the way, we walk to school in numbers, there and back in the rain, snow, freezing, scorching weather; both ways were up hill. What the hell was school busing?? Busing was one of the most costly and useless blunders ever in this country. Would it have made sense economically to transfer (hypothetical numbers) 1,000 teachers in stead of busing 15 million kids??
Back in the day, 95% of all adults could be trusted and were role models. Did degenerate pedophile priests and scumbags in other organization that took advantage of kids exist. Absolutely, BUTT nothing to the magnitude that it is today.
Organization like the Boy Scouts were honorable groups that were well respected. Look what we have today. That is where parents sent their boys to develop into stand-up young men.
Apr 24, 2019 – The BSA said in a statement that they ‘care deeply about all victims of child sex abuse and sincerely apologize to anyone who was harmed’.
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) is one of the largest youth organizations in the United States, ….. “Great Is the Truth: Secrecy, Scandal, and the Quest for Justice at the Horace Mann School”. Farrar, Straus and Giroux. Retrieved 19 April 2018 …
Were these things prevalent way back when? Yes, BUTT to such a small degree, they were almost unnoticeable.
Kids were sent to school to learn, not to get disciplined.
Mar 23, 2013 – Teachers have warned that disruptive behaviour in classrooms has escalatedsharply in recent years, as funding cuts to local … ranging from violent assault to defamatory campaigns on social media. …. That is most of it, and prison is hardly the solution to bad behavior in kids. …..
Gun violence was nowhere near what it is today. Most disputed were settled with fists, clubs and sometime baseball bats. If someone in the neighborhood got out of line, THE BOYS made sure it didn’t happen again. What goes on today is outrageous. If anyone has a beef with another person, the first thing that comes out is the AK 47. Take a look at HEY JACKASS, it gives a blow by blow description.
I blame the government for creating a worthless groups of people (the ones that are scamming the government and do not need aid) that have never worked in their life. Some families have been on social services for 7 – 8 generations.
Big money is behind a lot of the problems and should be faulted for the some of the conditions in this country. Media – entertainment – video games – TV programs – legalizing drugs – promiscuity; they are all linked together.
Just watch the tube and see all of what used to be UNMENTIONABLES that are being jammed down the throats of the viewing public. Do I need to be specific?? There are no lines drawn. Everything is fair game, all in an effort to turn-over a buck.
The politicians in this country are constantly looking for answers to our monumental problems, BUTT do not want to get to the real root of the problems. Like in any other activity. Basics fundamentals is where they start. Will this country get back to the old school basics. It will never happen. There is too much money being made by the heavy hitters to do an about face.
You don’t want violence at sporting events?? Answer, don’t sell booze. GMAFB – You don’t want fans to get injured by flying broken bats and bass?? Put up the fencing. GMAFB. I could go on for days. It is all about the $oldi.
All of the above have contributed to where we are today. I will predict, it will never go back to the days where people were safe and we did not have to buy our grand kids a bullet proof vest to wear to school.
Why should there be some many political fools that vote against gun regulations that would eventually cut down on the crimes. By now it, would be almost a futile effort to get any kind of gun control out there. There are too many weapons on the streets.
How many guns are privately owned in the US?
Gun ownership is the act of owning a gun. In 2018, Small Arms Survey reported that there are over one billion small arms distributed globally, of which 857 million (about 85 percent) are in civilian hands. U.S. civilians alone account for 393 million (about 46 percent) of the worldwide total of civilian held firearms.
Tell me it is not out of control.
Way back when the world was civilized, the only reason a person need a gun or rifle for was to hunt and provide food for their family. As society became more progressive and violent, it was necessary for Joe Citizen to be armed to protect him and his family.
This deplorable condition where kids need to wear bullet proof vests to go to school is very upsetting to me and I am sure many others. Butt very little effort if any has taken place to change the conditions.
The politicians that control the conditions in this country should be ashamed of themselves. They are not. They only work 138 days a year, or should I say show up). That equates to 1,231.00 a day not counting their perks. If you AXE any of them, they would tell you they are overloaded. Issues such s this should be on the very top of their priority list. Do they even have a list??
BULLET-PROOF VEST FOR OUR KIDS, ARE YOU SHITTING ME??
Should any kid have to grow up under conditions like this, living in fear. What hell is next, driving to school in armored vehicles?? BUTT what good would that do if the schools are not protected as I have recommended many times. There should be a well trained/qualified armed guard at each entrance or exit at every school in the country. If necessary, eliminate some of the exits and entrances to reduce the man- power needed. The politicians say it is too expensive?? What if one of their kids were the victim??
This is what is recorded the USA gave away last year:
Funding for international affairs, including foreign aid, was $59.1 billion last year and this year it will be $55.9 billion — still a sizable cut, but much less than the $18.6 billion reduction requested by the White House. And we can not protect our kids?? GMAFB
BULLET PROOF VEST FOR KIDS???
Without some drastic changes of getting back to the basics, the conditions in this country will only continue to deteriorate further. I say it is too far gone to make a comeback.
Here it is folks:

Chew on that for awhile. Without rules – regulations and most of all fundamentals, we have nothing.
