GM poised to close plants in Michigan, Ohio, Maryland, will cut 15% of salaried workers
General Motors is poised to end production at five plants in the U.S. and Canada, kill off several passenger cars, including the Chevrolet Impala, and slash 15 percent of its salaried workforce in a sweeping cost-cutting plan designed to boost profits and adjust to America’s changing tastes in vehicles.
I like the, to boost profits part. The hogs want to get fatter while putting the working man out of a job. Great news for the workers, just before the holidays.
GM(GREEDY MOTHERS) are not making enough money. In February of 2018: General Motors reported quarterly earnings and revenue that beat analysts’ expectations on Tuesday, driven by sales of crossovers, and strong pricing and cost controls.I like the boost profits piece. I can’t help but wonder if the CEO and the rest of the higher-uppers are also getting their paychecks hatched?? After all, we would not want to see Mary and the other Big Wigs miss any meals. The poor thing only made 22 million last year.
GM CEO Barra had compensation of $21.96M in 2017
Apr 27, 2018 – General Motors Chairman and CEO Mary Barra had total compensation in 2017 of $21.96 million. The figure represents a decline from her 2016 compensation of $22.58 million. Barra’s total compensation, which includes stock awards and pension changes, represents more than what she actually saw in pay.
As far as I am concerned, someone that is making 22 million a year and is cutting a lower level employee’s paycheck to increase profits has to have a very large set of balls. In Mary’s case, a very large set of whatever.
It is sad to say, BUTT a fact of life, the birds on the lower branches, always get the worst end of the deal.
Sad to see the little guy getting the raw end of the deal again and again.
Happy Holidays Mary Barra.
