EDUCATION, ALONG WITH RECONCILIATION

USA TODAY

Violent offenders, often victims themselves, need more compassion and less punishment

Reconciliation or being sympathetic alone is not the answer

Some sympathizers say the penalties for some criminal are too harsh. That may be true in some circumstances. On the other hand, some a far too lenient. They can list 100’s of reason as to what brought these criminals to this low point in their lives.  They also may be factual. BUTT one thing they forget to mention; all people know the difference from right and wrong from a very early age. Experts claim kids reach the age of reasoning at 7 years of age. I say it is a hell of a lot sooner.  Reasoning maybe, BUTT knowing right from wrong, try 2 – 3 or 4 years old.

In a three-year study of a Harvard team, half of the 122 people we interviewed told us they had been beaten by their parents; 40 percent had witnessed someone being killed; 30 percent grew up with other family violence; and 16 percent reported being sexually abused. Nine out of ten of the people we interviewed got in fights throughout adolescence. An additional 50 percent said they were seriously injured in assaults or accidents as children.

All of these studies have their own significance, BUTT what about all of the other people who had similar upbringings and did not go down the road of crime?? The majority factor on how anyone is going to turn out in their lives is the person them-self.  Some people are just born devious, mean-spirited, with a criminal mentality, hateful, demented, sadistic and so on. Regardless what measures are taken to help these people, NOTHING is going to make a difference.

That is why my solution to ANY bad situation is; preventing it from happening before it happens through EDUCATION.  If somewhere down the road these people fall off the wagon and break the law, they should be punished to the fullest extent of the law. BUTT in the mix, try to EDUCATE them while they are behind bars, so if the do get out, they will know how to be productive citizens.

Some people are just born devious, mean-spirited, with a criminal mentality, hateful, demented, sadistic  and so on. Regardless what measures are taken to help these people, NOTHING is going to make a difference.

So are lesser punishments the answer to crime prevention; I say no. I many cases it sends the wrong message to the criminal. Sooo, I can rob this bank and only get 5 years. Maybe it is worth the risk. BUTT if I get a life sentence, I should think twice about it.

There are a particular breed of people out there that mistake kindness and good deeds for stupidity.  Bleeding hearts do not cut it when dealing with the criminal element.

Does this statistic tell the tale?? The recidivism in California is upwards of 73%.

https://californiainnocenceproject.org/issues-we-face/recidivism-rates/

A recidivist is a person who is released from prison and who later commits another crime, or re-offends, such as a parole violation or the commission of a new crime. Recidivism rates by state vary but California is among the highest in the nation. According to a 2012 report by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, just over 65% of those released from California’s prison system return within three years. This number has not changed significantly over the years. The report also sheds light on some factors that affect recidivism including the fact that 73% of the recidivism committed a new crime or violated parole within the first year of their release from prison. Also, those convicted of property crime are much more likely to recidivist that those convicted of serious crime. Such high prison recidivism rates represent a complete failure of the prison system to achieve its supposed goals of deterrence and rehabilitation.

Some people are just born devious, mean-spirited, with a criminal mentality, hateful, demented, sadistic  and so on. Regardless what measures are taken to help these people, NOTHING is going to make a difference.

The ONLY answer to having any person leading a decent life is; for them to learn by example and EDUCATION. Both of those elements go hand in hand. Either educate them before they commit a crime, or educated them while in the slams not to commit another crime when they are relapsed. As it stands now, 73% of criminals are repeat offenders in Calif. in less than one year after their release. What does that tell me?? Chances are, if they were raised properly and educated properly, they would not have committed a crime in the 1st place.

Another sad commentary in today’s news of where this country has gone headline.

Chicago, other big cities struggle; murder rate a ‘national disaster’

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/2018/08/10/u-s-homicide-clearance-rate-crisis/951681002/

It is getting so bad in some high crime areas, citizens are being instructed to stay in doors.

GMAFB

There are many elements that turns a person into being a criminal. One of them in the gangs twisted mentality, they are considered heroes to their peers. When a member commits a crime, it is their badge of honor.

Can anyone convince me, if these thugs were given less harsh prison sentences, they would be less likely to re-offend?? Hell no, it would give them the incentive to commit more crimes.  When they are sent to prison, it is like OLD HOME WEEK to them. Half of them are relatives and homies that are locked up with them.  BUTT if they were EDUCATED properly at an early age, that is the ONLY answer.

Don’t do the crime, so you don’t have to do the time!!
