New Orleans shooting leaves 3 dead, 7 injured
-
NEW ORLEANS — Three people were killed and seven others were injured during a shooting in New Orleans, officials said. The New Orleans Police Department said they are searching for two suspects who opened fire on a crowd of people on the 3400 block of South Claiborne Avenue.
Small potatoes now, barley noteworthy.
What would have made the top story of the day; 3 killed and 7 injured has become so commonplace it is now hidden somewhere at the bottom of the pages of importance.
I spent 2.5 years in the Far East where the human waste run under the wooden sidewalks in what they called Benjo Ditch. The 1st couple of weeks I was there, it stunk to high heaven; after that I got used to the stench and didn’t smell it anymore.
It may be a poor comparison, BUTT the fact of the matter is, we can even get used to smell of shit if we are around it long enough. It is called becoming anesthetized.
Not a great commentary for where our country is headed.
