Air Force One To Install $24 Million Refrigerator
Air Force One is getting 2 new refrigerators, leaving the taxpayers to foot the almost $24 million dollar bill for the new fixtures.
Come on folks; 24 million for 2 new ice-a-boxes (Italian version for refrigerators)???? John Stossel would give this one a very big; GIVE ME A BREAK. How could replacing 2 of the 5 units cost 24 million dollar$ to replace?
The US Air Force awarded Boeing a $23.6 million contract in December to replace two of the five “cold chiller units” aboard the aircraft used by President Donald Trump.
“The current rear lower lobe cold chiller units being replaced are the original commercial equipment delivered with the aircraft in 1990. The units were based on the technology at the time and designed for short-term food storage,” Air Force spokesperson Ann Stefanek told CNN.
It is common-knowledge that contractors who work for the government essentially have cart-blanche. All they have to do is get their foot in the door and the rest is history. Rarely does the final billing ever match what the original bid price was. Depending on the industry, it can exceed it by 20 – 100% or more.
Years back the “M” (million) word held a lot of clout. That time has long past. Now we use the the “B” word so loosely and don’t even blink an eye.
Uncle Sam’s outsourcing tab: $517 billion
@CNNMoney June 10, 2013: 3:27 PM ET

Uncle Sam awarded more than $500 billion in outsourcing contracts in the most recent fiscal year, paying for everything from submarines to janitorial contracts.
These numbers were complied in 2013; I can imagine that in today’s market, they probably have doubled.
Based on my experiences, I think outsourcing is a hell of a lot more inexpensive and practical than doing in-house. Sad to say, some government workers are the best in the business at intercoursing the canine. They can make a 2 day job last 6 months. BUTT; the down side to outsourcing is, they have to keep better control on the EXTRAS, which in some cases substantially exceed the original bid price.
According to records, in the year 1990, Air Force 1 cost in the neighborhood of 330 million dollar$ to build. In the year 2018, to replace 2 of the 5 refrigerators on that same plane, it is going to cost 24 million.

REFRIGERATOR AIRFORCE 1
Anyone notice the size difference?? I know I am exaggerating; BUTT I can’t be too far from the truth.
I am the first one that wants to see our Commander-in-Chief ride in style; BUTT on the other side of the coin, I would also like to see a tighter reign put on government spending.
I realize that all of the tubing and electronics for the ice-a-boxes have to be replaced, BUTT 24 million worth??? It is a good thing the other 3 haven’t gone out. It probably would not be a bad idea to replace all 5 of them while they are at it. BUTT, it would not surprise me if the entire aircraft will be shit canned in the very near future. There goes another 24 million flushed down the government toilet.
Speaking of toilets; back in 1986 the government paid; $37 screws, a $7,622 coffee maker, $640 toilet seats. This practice is and was not uncommon. Who the hell is watching the story??
We do not want to loose sight of the fact that payolla is a very big thing. You scratch my back and I will donate to your cause.

I have said it many times before; if the people that are so reckless with the governments money had it coming directly out of their pockets; instead of staying at the 4 Seasons and chowing down on surf and turf 6 times a day, they would be shacking up at the Red Roof Inn and eat under the Golden Arches.
I will not keep the light on waiting for them.
BAU in the governments will never change anytime soon. They have toooo much power and they write the laws and the rule books they live by.
I still ask the stupid question. Why is it that the politicians DO NOT live and breath by the same guidelines that us peasants do? Do they think they are better than us?? Evidently. The should be compelled to be on the social security plan – have the same medical we have – have the same percentage retirement plan we have. DO THEY THINK THEY ARE BETTER THAN US. YOU GOD-DAMN RIGHT THEY DO!!!!
I would like to get a movement started to put these suggestions into law. Put them on the ballot and let the American people speak.
Pass this around to all of your contacts and possible we can shake up those prim-donns in DC.

I would think that Donald Trump, the business man, who is running this country as a business and it should, would take a second look at such expenditure. He has already cut a tremendous amount from expense accounts, shut down departments or reduced employees greatly.
You will NEVER get the dumb-a-crats to agree
