Trump attacks San Juan mayor over hurricane response

President Donald Trump launched an attack on San Juan Mayor Carmen Yulín Cruz on Saturday for criticizing the White House’s hurricane relief efforts in Puerto Rico, accusing her of “poor leadership” and suggesting that the island’s residents are not doing enough to help themselves.

It is beyond a disaster or devastation what happened to Puerto Rico when Harvey came calling; there are no words to describe it.

I don’t know if most people stop to realize what a monumental task it is to respond to destruction like that. The island sits over 1,000 miles to the nearest source of relief. Everything that moves on and off the island must be airlifted or by brought in by boat. This does not happen over night.

When the relief packages/cargo does reach its destination, many of the islanders are not acting quick enough to disperse the merchandise.  There 1,000’s of cargo carriers just sitting on the dock waiting to be distributed.

There is an old saying that may be very prophetic in this situation; GOD HELPS THOSE WHO HELP THEMSELVES!!

Most, I would say, not all of the people there are so used to being taken care of by Uncle Sam through the years they have developed very non-aggressive habits when it comes to working.  Is this their fault; partially yes and partially no. Some people do not have the initiative to function on their own, they need constant supervision.

Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, give a man a fishing rod and he eat for the rest of his life!!

It costs the USA billions of dollars a year to support Puerto Rico and what is the payback?? Very little except a strategic place on the map.

Am I implying that the people of Puerto Rico can more proactive and help themselves more than they are? Yes, but I am sure that our government could have been more aggressive with the aid.  All of the blame can not be cast in one area.

There was a complaint circulating with the Boulder Rollers that the highest ranking military personal in charge of the operations was ONLY a one star general and not a three star. Can anyone tell me just how much more qualified a 3 start is then a 1 star??  NONE, except time served.

Just like Monday morning quarterbacks, it is very easy to stand back and pick apart the game after it has been played. Could there have been more done for the people in Puerto Rico? There always is room for improvement, no matter who or what the situation, that is UNLESS they are democratic Boulder Rollers. Don’t believe me, just axe one of them.

If a person can not do any better than the person they are bad rapping; they should be keeping that fly-catcher closed. Regardless of who would be sitting in the Big Chair now, there would be many complications, very possibly a hell of a lot worse then we are now experiencing.

If PDT walked on water to get to Puerto Rico; the Boulder Rollers would say, he should have been running.

It will be years before the island will be totally up and running; BUT sad to say, there most probably will another unwelcome visitor from Mother nature that knocks it for a loop.  I call it throwing good $oldi after bad.

Some people have lost sight of the fact that our government is spread very thin working in almost a dozen locations as a result of hurricanes.  It would be a daunting task for anyone.

It may be cheaper in the long run for the government to move all of the island’s inhabitants to USA’s mainland and leave the place deserted except for some military presents.  There again, in some circumstances there is no good resolution to some problems/conditions.

50% of PRs National Guard refuse to go to work and distribute the supplies that sit at the Port

The Mayor was bitchin moaning and groaning on TV while she was standing around those very same supplies

I think the mayor is ungrateful and has a lot of nerve to bite the hand that feeds her!
