Don’t mess with AI

We have seen hundreds of movies through the years where the creation devours the creator. As I see it, because of mankind’s obsession with advancement, we have gone down a road that says DEAD END and may be or already have, signing our own death warrant.

In a certain areas, we have started down that very dangerous road and it may be too late to make U turn.

I don’t consider it an achievement, when one machine is developed that eliminates 100’s or 1,000’s of jobs.  That is exactly what has happened, not only with machinery but with technology.

Only one of many examples. When did we ever think we would see companies like Sear, K-Mart, JC Penny and other going out of business because of internet purchasing?

30 years ago, did we ever think we would see 100’s of 1,000’s of jobs eliminated because robots have taken over the tasks. Is that what we call advancement or should we call it regression?  I say in many areas, we have regressed.

How Technology Is Destroying Jobs
Automation is reducing the need for people in many jobs. Are we facing a future of stagnant income and worsening inequality?

Technology could kill 5 million jobs by 2020

It is almost frightening to consider, some of the machines/robots that are being invented are designed to learn for themselves as they advance. They recognize the error they make and do what is needed to circumvent their mistake. In that regard, they are smarter/more advanced than the people that made them.  Possibly, the government should buy a few thousand of them.

According to the scientists (Dr. Frankenstein) that are making these robots, I will call them mini-monsters, it is not beyond the realm of possibility that the robots can become smarter and more advanced then their creators. THUS their creators become their victim when the robots turn against them. Right Frank??

Many people may think there is a lot of humor or impossibilities in this post, BUT, always the BIG BUT, those who laugh last laugh the loudest.

It is almost impossible to stop mankind from advancing. BUT, there should be a ceiling as to how far we go in dangerous areas before our advancements cause our demise. In my opinion, that has started already. 100′ of 1,000’s of job have been eliminated because of technology.  Everything and everyone wants to be smarter and faster. To my way of thinking, in some situations we are driving the car in reverse.

By cloning animals and humans, it goes against the grain of nature, made to order babies is insane, making robots/machines that think for them-self in absurd, self-driving cars, WHY??

Many of the inventions/technology have turned the human brain into mush. People literally do not have to use that computer that sits on their shoulders for anything, they have machine that thinks and acts for them. Just the simplest task like making change when the computerized cash register goes down is a catastrophe for some people.

People have lost their ability to communicate. All they know how to do is TEXT.  Technology has turned mankind into a bunch of imbeciles, one invention at a time.

I say, if it is not broke, don’t fix it. I say, leave well enough alone. I say, be careful what you wish for.  Just how far does mankind want to go before it self-destructs?  We have started down that path already.

It is very hard to pick and chose, which ares of science and medicine need to be advanced. The cure for cancer and other diseases is very important. As an example, trying to clone babies and modify their characteristics before they are hatched is nuts.

How should we pick and chose? That is a very difficult question. I guess it all comes do to using good old commonsense. As we all know, there is not a lot of that going around these days.

After watching this video, don’t tell me that there should not be some serious concerns as to just how far we going with artificial intelligence (AI).

In the construction industry alone, in the past 30 years we see 1/5 or 1/10 of the people working on the jobs eliminated.  The advancement in mechanical technology has sky rocketed and put 1,ooo’s out of work.

As the old saying goes; the faster I go, the behinder I get.

To my way of thinking, I would rather see 200 guys with picks and shovels or hand raking concrete, than I would 190 of them in the soup line.

But, I am an old fashion guy that would rather go back to the 40’s and 50′ when life was less complicated and people were genuine.  Who can argue with that? I am sure there are many.

Food for thought.

Will advancement ever peek or come to a halt? Only when we have gone too far and the created monster kills Dr. Frankenstein.
