Every once and awhile (rarely) do we have to privilege of meeting and having a relationship with someone like Paul Angelo Sciria. The man was as solid as the Rock of Gibraltar.
Paul age 88, passed away peace- fully in his sleep June 23, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Franca (nee Colabrese), dearest father of Paula Leonette (Louis), Leslie (deceased), Scott (Beverly), Randy (Jennie), Tammy Turk (Frank) and John (Shannon); devoted grandfather of Louie, Paul, Anthony, Joseph and Nicole Leonette, Devon Evenson and Nicholas Sciria, Randy and Francesca Turk; great-grandfather of three; dear brother of Madeleine “Helen” LaMarca (Louis, deceased); loving son of the late Angelo and Felicia “Lillian” (nee Lardomita); beloved uncle, great-uncle and friend of many. Paul was a proud alumnus and avid fan of The Ohio State University Buckeyes, former television news investigative reporter, former Mayfield Heights Councilman, Coupon Guru, started Sciria and Associates Promotions and Public Relations Company, founder of the LaGazzetta Italiana newspaper and Editor of LaNostra Voce ISDA Newspaper.
I would have to say, Paul had quiet the resume and history.
Aside from all of his accomplishment, Paul was a very unpretentious, approachable, always had time for a friend and was open to conversation with just about anybody he ran across.
He was extremely intelligent, well versed on many subjects, a great conversationalist, honest as the day is long, a man of his word, his hand shake was his bond and he looked directly in your eyes when speaking to you. In this day and age, I would call him a rarity.
The loves of Paul’s life in this order were; his family, 2nd being Italian and 3rd Ohio State. If anyone really wanted to piss of the Old Man, all they had to do was bad rap any one of those subjects.
Paul knew everyone one in Cleveland and everyone knew him. I am sure he could have gone in many directions in his younger days, but Paul chose the right path instead of the wrong side of the street. He absolutely was very honorable person.
He will be remembered as a one of a kind, a stand-up man and the creme da la creme.
What more can be said about Paul Angelo Sciria; except, it was my pleasure to know him and have him as a friend!!
Rest in Peace
