They should change the name of the program from the Oscars to the Agenda Awards show?
Iranian director Asghar Farhadi wins Oscar, says in statement U.S. ‘disrespected’ his country, others.
Iranian director Asghar Farhadi won the Oscar for best foreign language film for “The Salesman” Sunday night, but said in a statement read on his behalf at the Academy Awards by Anousheh Ansari that he was not attending because of the disrespect he said the United States had shown seven majority Muslim countries who had been named in a travel ban earlier this month by the Trump administration.
“It a great honor to be receiving this valuable award for the second time,” Farhadi said in his statement, and after thanking those who worked with him on the film, got down to brass tacks.
“I’m sorry I’m not with you tonight. My absence is out of respect for the people of my country and those of other six nations whom have been disrespected by the inhumane law that bans entry of immigrants to the U.S.”
How can anyone from Iran talk about another country that is disrespectful and has inhumane laws?
I don’t know of any law that mandates the USA having an open door to the world. This is one issue that foreigners do not understand. They are trying to enter our country and should have to play by our rules. Has any of the fools heard there is a terrorist in town?
Through the years, the USA has made it so easy for anyone from any country can enter the USA, virtually unvetted and live a long life all the way to retirement. Folks, the game has changed and the rules have to change with it.
As I have said many times before; if what PDT is doing saves one life or prevents one lady from getting raped or eliminates one crime, is it not worth it??
Yet this fool of fools Farhadi, feels that is is perfectly OK for him to have one of the members of his Camel riding club get on stage, in front of the world and insult our country and president.
It has always been a point of common courtesy; never go into another man’s home and insult them. But what do people like Farhadi and his mouth-piece know about etiquette.
I didn’t watch the Oscars last night but I can bet that Farhadi’s statement got a good round of applause from all the PC-sheep in the audience.
I probably can go so far to say, if Farhadi would have pull this stunt in his VERY LIBERAL homeland of Iran, bad mouthing his country, he may be looking at jail time or some sort of disciplinary actions.
If the USA is so distasteful to all of the fools, why are they all trying to crawl under the fences?
