BOSTON — A photo released by the U.S. attorney’s office shows $20 million authorities say they found hidden in a box spring in a Westborough, Mass. apartment, CBS Boston reports.
It looks like Cleber Rene Rizerio Rochaset added a new meaning to the saying; I think I gonna sleep on it.
Rochaset, a Brazilian living in the USA put together a Ponzi scheme, acquired so much $oldi, he had nowhere to hide it so he put it inside his mattress for SAFE keeping.
WE can say what we want but people like Rochaset are geniuses; manipulative – despicable – lowlife – conniving – underhanded – backstabbing – without conscience but geniuses. A person that can pull off scams at this magnitude certainly has to be very sharp.
The scam was set up working through a company called Telexfree, like all Ponzi schemes never really get off the ground as a legitimate company. They are a form of fraud in which belief in the success of a nonexistent enterprise is fostered by the payment of quick returns to the first investors from money invested by later investors.
Eventually, by having to steal from Peter to pay Paul to keep the scam going, the customers base dries up and the scheme falls apart.
Rochaset focused his scam at Brazilian immigrants. At his high point conned about almost 1 million people worldwide that were swindled out of nearly $1.8 billion. This was one busy guy. He had to have a lot of help.
What makes people like Rochaset exceptionally dangerous, they steal from family and friends without blinking an eye.
Remember folks; if it sounds too good to be true, it almost always is!! Forget banks and investments; put in inside your mattress.
Forget banks and investments; put all your $oldi inside your mattress and sleep on it.
