Go take a cold shower – take a couple of aspirin – you had your shot at the presidency – no one is listening to you except the tree huggers in Vt.
WASHINGTON ― Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) warned Donald Trump that the president-elect would face stiff opposition if he tries to privatize the Department of Veterans Affairs. The remarks from Sanders, a former chairman of the Senate Veterans Affairs Committee, was a response to a report that Trump is considering the move.
I would say, if the VA was operating in a productive manner under the present conditions then Bernie would have a case. The proof of how incompetent the system has been is staring him right in the face and he is defending it. Sounds similar to his campaign rhetoric.
“Privatizing the VA would be an insult to the more than 22 million veterans who risked their lives to defend our country and it would significantly lower the quality of health care they receive. Our goal, shared by The American Legion and other major veterans’ organizations, must be to improve the VA, not destroy it,” Sanders said in a statement Friday.
“We will vigorously oppose any and all efforts to privatize the VA,” Sanders added.
Adding to the fact that Saunders was the former head of the veterans affairs solidifies that he has no basis for his position and should be ashamed to even defend the current condition of the VA.
Common sense dictates that leaving the VA to operate the piss poor way it has for decades is the insult to the vets, privatizing it would be a blessing to the vets. Most probably in the long run, the overall cost to the government would be a hell of a lot less than it presently is.
How many presidents have tried to reform the system while in office and have not succeeded? SOOO, do we leave it as is or make changes for the better? My answer is pretty clear.
Can be that Bern is getting a jump on paving his way for the 2020 election by keeping his nose in the news. By that time he will be 111 years old and not physically able to get on and off Marine Corps One because it does not have wheelchair access.
Back off Bernie.
