(NEWSER) – A 27-year-old jogger from New York City was found dead in Princeton, Mass., on Sunday, her naked body partially burned, police say.
Vanessa Marcotte — an account manager for Google — had set out from her mother’s house, which she was visiting for the weekend, around 1 p.m., authorities say.
What a tragedy for this lady, her family and others victims like Vanessa. Most of these incidents are avoidable if the proper precautions are taken. My heart and prayers go out to her family and others like them.
It can’t ever happen to me is what so many people think, especially ladies when it comes to being attacked by some deranged – mentally sick molester or killer.
Think again folks. These sick bastards that attack, molest, beat and rape ladies have no boundaries. The will attack anyone, at any time they think they can get away with it.

Violence Against Women in the United States: Statistics
DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (Intimate Partner Violence or Battering)
Domestic violence can be defined as a pattern of abusive behavior in any relationship that is used by one partner to gain or maintain power and control over an intimate partner.3 According to the National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, women experience about 4.8 million intimate partner-related physical assaults and rapes every year.4 Less than 20 percent of battered women sought medical treatment following an injury.5
According to the National Crime Victimization Survey, which includes crimes that were not reported to the police, 232,960 women in the U.S. were raped or sexually assaulted in 2006. That’s more than 600 women every day.6 Other estimates, such as those generated by the FBI, are much lower because they rely on data from law enforcement agencies. A significant number of crimes are never even reported for reasons that include the victim’s feeling that nothing can/will be done and the personal nature of the incident.7
Young women, low-income women and some minorities are disproportionately victims of domestic violence and rape. Women ages 20-24 are at greatest risk of nonfatal domestic violence8, and women age 24 and under suffer from the highest rates of rape.9 The Justice Department estimates that one in five women will experience rape or attempted rape during their college years, and that less than five percent of these rapes will be reported.10 Income is also a factor: the poorer the household, the higher the rate of domestic violence — with women in the lowest income category experiencing more than six times the rate of nonfatal intimate partner violence as compared to women in the highest income category.11 When we consider race, we see that African-American women face higher rates of domestic violence than white women, and American-Indian women are victimized at a rate more than double that of women of other races.12
What a sad commentary for a supposed civilized society.
With anything we do in life; prevention is always been the most successful part of the cure or solution.
My suggestions have always been; don’t go where you don’t belong. If you have to go into suspect places, go in numbers. If not in numbers, ALWAYS carry a weapon. Even a lead pencil can be a life saver. Go directly for the eyes or throat. Disable the animal attacker severely enough to injure them then get away. DO NOT stand there and try to overpower the person. If one stab at the intended target misses, don’t stand there and look at the animal, attack again in rapid succession.
Carrying a can of Mace is OK but it is hard to conceal and carry. An ice pick or a lead pencil can be carried inconspicuously in your hand or tucked up the sleeve of you jogging jacket where you can get to it quickly.
In this sick world we live in, we have to be prepared for any situation at any time that comes up. Most people do not have the nerve to severely hurt another person even if it means saving their own life. That is where some good martial arts or a self-defense classes may be in order. Many of these tragic situations are avoidable if a person is prepared for them.
If you do not have a weapon with you as you should, jam index you finger or fingers into the attackers eyes. One straight finger can cause more damage. Thrust hard, with good aim and fast. It is very possible that the victim can not get close enough to use their thumbs or multiple fingers.
An example of poor instruction: This guy in the video below is showing a lady that is half his size how to defend against an attacker by using a strike to the solar plexus and a forearm or knife hand to the throat. Not a good idea when being attack by some twice your size. The more simplistic and practical any self-defense technique is, the more effective it will be. Be realistic. The attackers is doing just that, attacking and try not to give the defender time to react. The fast a person counter-attacks, the better.
That is a very common/severe problem people instructed improperly.
A kick to the groin always works, 1st, if the recipient has a set of nuts (never know these days) and 2nd, the kick has to be aimed and executed properly with enough force. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a strike with the knee to the groin – an instep or chin kick to the groin works just as well. Kick as hard as you can using a good aim. Which part of your foot or leg you use all depends on the distance between you and the attacker. When you execute the kick, pretend you are a kicker on a pro football team and you are attempting a 70 YARD FIELD GOAL for the win. Repeating; hurt the attacker and run away, do stick around to be a hero.
It has always been my opinion; the most damage inflicted to an attacker in the shortest amount of time is what the life saver is going to be. Pencil – ice pick – finger all can be very useful defense weapons, if you have the heart to use them.
Most people do not have the nerve to execute severe counter-attack such as that. Your mental state has more to do with your survival than you physical state does. If you can not conjure up enough nerve to do whatever it takes to save your life, you just might as well capitulate to the attacker, lay on the ground and let them have at it. THAT IS NOT WHAT WE WANT TO DO!!!!
Here is a little mental and visual imagery to shake those kind of people into reality. Imagine yourself or a loved one laying on the coroners slab, blood and guts all over the table , naturally dead, being all chopped up to determine the cause of death or in a hospital bed for a month. That is a pretty sight isn’t it ladies. It can be any one of you.
Attacks do not always happen in isolated areas like a running on a track through the words. It happens in broad daylight, in a shopping mall parking lot and other conspicuous places.
The moral of this very sad story is to be prepared at all times to defend yourself. Do not ever hesitate to stop and look behind you when walking. If you see someone suspicious isx following you, run – scream – carry a whistle and blow it – set off the emergency horn on your car to draw attention to yourself – try to get around other people ASAP. Safety is in numbers.
ALWAYS, look in your car and under it before getting close to it or in it. We do not have to be paranoid just cautious.
For the faint of heart, you have to ask yourself one question. Will the victor be the molester/killer or will it be me? Suck it up – do what you have to do to save your life and then cry about it when you get home.
