Ex-British PM Tony Blair apologizes for Iraq War ‘mistakes’
There is some contrition in politicians after-all, even if they are not in the USA.
LONDON — Britain’s former Prime Minister Tony Blair has apologized for “mistakes” made in the U.S.-led invasion of Iraq in 2003.
Blair also said there are “elements of truth” in claims that the invasion was the main cause of the rise of the Islamic State group, in an interview with CNN’sFareed Zakaria that will be broadcast Sunday.
Britain and the United States under the GWB administration attacked Iraq following a belief, based on intelligence, that Saddam Hussein’s regime had weapons of mass destruction. As we all know now, there were no major weapons of mass destruction were found.
This post can go on forever but I have been down that dirty road many times. I am sick and tired of beating the same old dead horse.
GWB and his boss knew that there were no weapons of mass destruction before they sent their top inspector to investigate. Even though the inspector came back with a negative report, GWB and company had already made up their mind to invade illegally Iraq.
It is refreshing that a man like Tony Blair has the decency to stand-up and admit his faults in the invasion of Iraq, even though it may too little too late. In my opinion he was heavily influenced by GWB and that other guy with no conscience. After all he was America’s closest ally at the time and wanted to support us.
Blair along with millions of other people were intentionally deceived by GWB but mainly by the other guy, all for the sake of profit by starting a war.
People can say what they want, but in my opinion, what’s his name had more influence over GWB then GWB will admit to. Anyone that can witness the aftermath of everything that is a result of invading Iraq, including the now ever dangerous threat that ISIS presents to the world and say they have no regrets is one heartless – narcissistic person.
I wonder if he ever took the time to visit one of the veterans hospitals or a vets cemetery to see what the end result of his handy-work was?
Blair is a far cry from that no conscience dude that said; he has no regrets. “I believed in it then,” Cheney told Politico’s Mike Allen. “I look back on it now, it was absolutely the right thing to do.”

The arrogance and ego of this man is astounding.
Maybe a little late but my hat is off to Tony Blair for his honesty; something the majority of the USA’s politicians have little of, if any.
