We have a bull-shitting epidemic going on in this country coming from some very prominent people that want to enhance their positions in life by stretching the truth or downright lying.
FOX NEWS: Veterans Affairs Secretary Robert McDonald has admitted that he lied about serving in the special operations forces in a conversation with a homeless veteran that was caught on camera earlier this year.
On a tour to visit the homeless vets McDonald made the claim that he had served in the special operations forces.
“Special forces? What years?” McDonald responded. “I was in special forces.” The exchange was broadcast on “The CBS Evening News” Jan. 30. McDonald’s misstatement was first reported by The Huffington Post.
McDonald is not just the run of the mill guy on the street that is trying to impress his rappies, he is the head honcho; the guy that Obama picked to untangle the disastrous and deplorable condition that the VA has fallen into due to more lies, corruption and falsifying records.
That would be like picking John Dillinger as the secretary of banking for the USA.
I would think that before filling a position as important as the head of Veterans affairs, the person’s history would be completely scrutinized before they got the nod.
Lying about being in the Special Forces is not a sacrilege but it is a mortal sin (lesser sin) to the members that actually did serve in that unit.
McDonald did graduate from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point in 1975 and completed Army Ranger training before being assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division until his retirement in 1980.
That achievement in itself is nothing to sneeze about. The Army Air Rangers is a very prestigious unit of the military. There was no need for McDonald up his status as being in the Special Forces. Issues such as this tend to take away a person creditability. We don’t look at them the same way as we did before.
