Hong Kong Police Use Tear Gas To Clear Protesters:

Let us hope they do not start using live ammo.

Hong Kong Democracy Protest       amn

How do you take the people’s liberties away after they lived in a democratic society for so many years?

It would be like telling Bill Gates to move into a 500 square foot shack after living in the 40,000 square house.

The vast majority of the people that are protesting have grown up in a democratic society under British rule and don’t know any other way of living. They appreciate their freedom and do not take it for granted like so many people do in the USA.

The British ruled Hong Kong for 156 years and the citizens got used to eating filet mignon and don’t want to go back to eating liver. Who can blame them?

The Chinese government wants to gradually bring back the “Old School” method of governing with an iron fist.

In 1989 at Tiananmen Square students held a demonstration against the Chinese government in protest to their civil rights being violated. It has been estimated that hundreds if not thousands of people were killed by government troops in this uprising.

These are people that have experienced of living in freedom for over a century and a half and do not want to go back to the old ways. Hopefully there will not be a repeat of the Tiananmen Sq. incident.
