CNN Keeps rocking the boat:
In 1992 black man named Rodney King who was going 115 miles an hour on the freeway was pulled over, allegedly resisted arrest and got the shit beat out of him and tasered by some club happy cops in LA.
As a result of this beating there was an enormous backlash in the black community, some of which I can say was justified but somewhat over the top.
Regarding this story; all of the ashes have settled after 20 years but now CNN thinks that it is “their duty” to stoke the fires again by putting a Rodney King “special” on TV this weekend. What the hell is the matter with those people? Did they ever hear the saying “let a sleeping dog lay”?
I am sure that there are other more note worthy world events that can be aired instead of stirring this pot. There are people out there that never heard of Rodney King that are going to get very disturbed over this story; I can’t say I blame them. Not to mention the fact that there is some racial disturbance over the Martin case in Florida brewing.
CNN, are you people trying to start some race riots so you have something to report? Anything for the dollar, huh fellas.
I certainly agree that in the past there have been gigantic injustices where the back people are concerned. That was then and this is now.
If there ever is going to be racial harmony in our country, I hope there is but really doubt it because of people like CNN that need to generate ratings, we have to refrain from rubbing salt in the wounds and hopefully in time people will forgive and forget, which is a very hard thing to do.
Everyone concerned has to understand one simple fact. Each and every person is responsible for their own actions not the actions of what their father, brother or mother did last week or 250 years ago.
Lets put an end to the hatred in this country so future generations are not dealing with the same issues another 50 years from now.
CNN, get a life and grow up. Go into the archives and try to dig up some other dirt that isn’t going to rekindle the fires.
I hope that everyone that reads this blog will boycott the program.
